Credit Repair Service?

Sounds Painful asked:

Can anyone recommend a good credit repair service, or a do-it-yourself guide?

My husband and I are working VERY hard to pay off our debts, but we would like to attack our low credit score from all angles.

Any suggestions?

Starting A Credit Repair and Financial Counseling Business?

leah_ifft@sbcglobal.net asked:

I currently work as a mortgage broker who specializes in bad credit loans. I have helped many of my clients understand their credit reports and what they can do to improve their credit.

I love this part of my job, am good at it and would like to turn it into a source of income.

I would like to take a credit repair client, obtain their credit reports and explain the information contained in them in detail. I would give recommendations about what they can do to raise their score and a detailed step by step plan of action. For an additional fee, I would dispute incorrect items on their behalf.

I plan to keep my prices low and offer honest, realistic advice specific to the individual’s situation and goals.

What certifications or licenses do I need to start a business that does this?
I did find out I need a $50,000 surety bond for this. How do I get that?
I have checked my state’s website and most of the information given there was pretty vague. I’d like to hear from someone who has done this before.

has anyone done business with Axiom Financial Group? They are supposed to help with credit repair. Thanks?

success_n_2005 asked:

They claim that they can improve your credit score 100-200 points in as little as 180 days. Their website seems real and I have talked face to face with real people but am skeptical. Looking for “real” people who amy have real-life experience with this company.

Is good credit possible after a defaulted student loan?

Danie asked:

My credit score was in the low 400′s after my student loan went into default. I am still confused how the other loans with the same company were in defferment but these were left off. I was just told too bad. My question is now that I have consolidated the defaulted loan I have also gotten some credit repair and a lot of derrogatory things paid off and deleted. Does consolidating the student loan in itself improve your credit score?

Credit Score Points and Charge Offs?

Tamara T asked:

I have been working very hard to repair my credit after losing my job nearly forced me to declare bankruptcy 3 years ago. had quite a view late payments but I’ve paid most of my balances down to less than 50% if not zero. However I currently have 2 charge off on my credit report(s). One is a car loan and the other is a personal loan. The total charged off amount was about 23,000. In the last two years I have paid about 19,000 on both loans. One is paid and the other has a principal balance of about 4,000. I am working with the creditor to have them changed from charged off to paid/paying as agreed as part of a final settlement. Does anyone have any idea how many actual points on your credit report charge offs are “worth”? Meaning if my credit score is currently 600, and I get these accounts changed from Charged off Paid, to Paid/Paying as Agreed with no charge off listed, how many points should I expect my score to go up for each considering the type of accounts they are?
Isn’t it at the discretion of the creditor how the debt is reported? They decide what they report to the credit bureaus. They can agree as part of the settlement to NOT report and once I have documenation of that it will be removed completely. I am negotiating for them to report PAID as agreed with a Zero balance rather than what they are currently reporting which is – CHARGED OFF AS BAD DEBT. Would them not reporting at all and the debt disappearing be better than it saying PAID as agreed?
The final settlement will allow me to dictate whatever I want changed on my credit report for BOTH accounts. Is getting both deleted entirely BETTER than having them changed from Charged Off to Paid/Paying as Agreed? And back to my original question – How many POINTS can I expect to gain on my credit report for having both deleted or changed to positive status?

Is it possible to remove credit inquiries from my credit report?

turmy3 asked:

Over the course of about three months I went on a desperate auto loan shopping spree. I was trying incredibly hard to get approved under my own name with only a year worth of credit history because I have no willing/able co-signer.

I’ve recieved about 20 inquiries and my credit score dropped over 50 points from the original 730 I had, bringing me from excellent credit to between fair and poor.

Now I know that people usually say that you should stay away from “credit repair” agencies. However, I feel cheated to have these inquires draining on my credit report for the next two years when I’ve been responsible with my credit cards as I don’t have a single late payment and I usually pay off half my debt or more every 2 weeks.

Please advise.

Why do I keep getting denied credit with a 707 credit score?

Devin asked:

About 2 months ago I applied for Home Depot and also a Lowes charge card and was denied. At the time my credit score was 671. Recently I checked it and it went up to 707. I applied for a Sears charge card to pay for some auto repairs and was denied again. What’s going on?
